Get Out & Boat Fest

Where? Chandler’s Cove, South Lake Union

When? June 11th, 11am to 4pm

How much? Completely FREE

What and why? Go boating! The event will demonstrate the joy and feasibility of boating by getting people out on the water. Attendees of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to ‘Seas the Day – Get Out & Boat!’  

FREE BOAT RIDES!

Fest-goers can experience the thrill of gliding across the water by taking a 45-minute boat ride around Lake Union. Sailboats, power boats under 30’, trawlers and cruisers will be available for rides, allowing attendees to tryout which boat best suits their lifestyle.

Information and Knowledge

Participants can learn new skills at hands-on docking, anchoring, technology, rigging and knot tying clinics with the guidance of industry professionals. Boating seminars offered by marine experts will cover topics such as how to buy a boat, trailer a vessel, navigate Pacific Northwest waters and cruise to new destinations. Fest attendees can stroll the docks and visit booths that provide information on what it takes to get into boating, whether it be obtaining a WA State Boaters Card, learning how to finance and insure a boat, or the ins-and-outs of chartering and boat share. Kayak and SUP demos will be held in the marina’s protected waterways to accommodate novice paddlers.

Family, Kids and Entertainment

This family-friendly event will also include a kids’ zone, live music provided by local musician Dave Calhoun and food vendors selling hot dogs and ice cream.
