Just 9 miles from the locks!

A quick and easy escape. Go to Kingston for the weekend and get a real break from reality.

The docks are in very good shape and the entire marina is fully protected from the wind and weather behind a substantial breakwater.
Down on the guest dock there are two gazebos that are perfect for gathering a group to eat, visit and general merriment.
There are laundry facilities and restrooms (free showers) located up at the harbormasters office. And…. Free Wi-Fi!
If you need to head up to the store for supplies it is almost a mile up the road. Usually this is less than desirable, but the Port of Kingston makes it fun. Sign up at the office to use (for free) the Port’s electric car to head up town. How cool is that?

Check the Port of Kingston website for the upcoming events. There are all kinds of fun to be had right next to the docks.Mike Wallace Park hosts concerts, a kite fest and a whole lot more. There is a farmers market every Saturday from May through October as well.

FunTable Stuff

Before dinner, head up to D’Vine Wines. Simply put, they have a very impressive wine selection. They “specialize in boutique wines from the Pacific Northwest, plus some great small vineyard imports from around the globe“. We have tested this spot for you… and… we approve.

A spot that we are anxious to check out but haven’t quite yet is the Mossback Cafe. We’ve talked to a few of the locals and they rave about it. Interesting they say…

“Mossback is a slow food, from farm to fork, restaurant serving seasonally harvested and locally sourced dining from the creators of the Foodshed”.

The Main Street Ale House has very good food and even better entertainment. Local, energetic owners have created a fantastic environment for people to enjoy the evening.
The decor, fresh ingredients and engaging staff come together to create a great experience. Friday and Saturday Nights, wander up to participate and/or enjoy some karaoke. Again, CruisingNW tested… and approved.
In the morning, head up to the Majestic Mountain Coffee Company for a breakfast wrap and great coffee.
Tell them all that you found them on Cruising Northwest!
