2015 CruisingNW Father’s Day Flotilla at the Deer Harbor Marina

We had an amazing time at Deer Harbor!

Our inaugural event was a great success! The highlight for us here at CruisingNW was helping introduce the San Juan Islands and Deer Harbor Marina to a “new-to-boating” couple. Paul and Judy Hansen came up from Everett and we loved getting to know them.

We bbq’ed, held the dock down, enjoyed boating talk over various beverages, dined with deer, made some toasts to dad’s who have passed and took a hike!

Judy Hansen won the side dish with her baked beans! Yum.

Our first event went very well. We had a blast. 6 boats with a total of about 30 people joined in the fun. We had 2 Uniflites (36′ and 29′), a 34′ CHB, a 26′ Sea Ray, a 27′ Bayliner and a 30′ Regal.

We were represented by a few countries.

8 – 10pm – Bon Fire on the Beach! With “Open Mic” style entertainment

8am – 10am – Donuts and coffee on the party dock (breakfast is available at the dock store)
Mid day – fun family activities
5pm – 7pm – Dinner at the Deer Harbor Inn

9am – Shuttles to Turtleback Hiking Trailhead
9:30am to 12noon Hiking on Turtleback
12noon – Shuttles back to Deer Harbor Marina
